Johann Adam Andreas (born 1657, died 1712) received an outstanding education. In 1699 he gained the Lordship of Schellenberg and in 1712 the County of Vaduz. His main activity was the reorganisation and enlargement of the family possessions.

He accepted no office at the imperial court, but he was available from case to case for public assignments. This was the case especially with financial problems. He was a financial expert and knew how to increase the princely incomes.

He was also called by his contemporaries Hans Adam the Rich.

Besides the administration of his property, he also took great interest in art. He bought works of Rubens and van Dyck for the princely collections. He was at the same time one of the most generous patrons of his time. In the field of architecture, the prince set himself two important memorials, the Palace in the Bankgasse street in Vienna and the summer palace in Rossau.
